What: El Mayor Tequila – Extra Anejo

Tasting Notes: The sipping kinda tequila – in a tall shot glass. Rich caramel color, with hints of vanilla. “El Mayor” means “the greatest” and the maker pride themselves on “using only the best raw product, implement the most intelligent, time-tested techniques, and instill in all of those around you a passion and pride in every aspect of the tequila-making process”. It certainly shows. This 100% agave tequila is aged up to 3 years in small, charred, white oak barrels, which means extra smooth, not cheap and a huge step up from the margarita tequilas. No lime needed here, yo.
Why this one stands out: I liked this complex, yet clean tequila. I loved that it comes in a great box and solid bottle perfect for gifting and sharing.
